Frequently asked questions

The things that actually come up while using it.

Does my computer have to stay on for a scheduled post?

For TikTok, yes — its API cannot schedule anything, so the app itself uploads at the chosen moment and has to be running. For YouTube, no: the clip is uploaded ahead of time with a publish time attached, and YouTube makes it public on its own.

What happens if the app was closed when a TikTok post was due?

The post stays in the queue and the scheduler picks it up the next time the app starts. It is posted late rather than skipped, so check the queue if timing matters for that clip.

Why can't I just pick "public" for a TikTok post?

The privacy levels you see come from TikTok for your specific account, and the app only offers those. If a level is missing it is because TikTok did not return it — typically because the developer application has not passed audit yet, or because of the account's own settings.

What is draft mode for?

Instead of publishing directly, the clip is delivered to your TikTok inbox. You open the app on your phone, review it and publish in two taps with any privacy level. It is the mode to use while a developer application is still waiting for audit, and it is also handy when you want to add an effect or a sticker before posting.

How many clips a day can I schedule?

On YouTube the practical ceiling is about six uploads per day on a default API quota. TikTok has no comparable per-app ceiling for a single creator; the limits of your own account apply.

Can I use it for more than one account?

The app connects one TikTok account and one YouTube channel at a time. Switching accounts means disconnecting and connecting the other one, and for a second YouTube channel with a busy schedule you will also want a separate Google Cloud project because of the quota.

Does ClipJet edit or re-encode my videos?

No. It reads the file you chose and uploads it as it is. Export the clip the way you want it to appear; what you see locally is what the platform receives.

Where are my access tokens stored?

In a file inside the app's data folder on your computer. They are not sent anywhere except to the platform that issued them, and disconnecting an account deletes them. Since that folder grants access to your accounts, keep it off shared drives and backups you do not control.

A post failed. What now?

Open the queue entry — the reason the platform gave is written there verbatim. Temporary problems are retried automatically; final ones wait for you, and the post can be sent again with the retry button once the cause is fixed.

Is there a mobile version?

No. ClipJet is a desktop app, because that is where the clips are edited and exported.
